Ready to join Army and fight for my nation, says martyr's brother

Dinesh Hansda, Ganesh Hansda's elder brother expressed his desire to join the army and serve his nation. A pall of gloom descended on Kosaphaliya village in Jharkhand on Wednesday morning when they received the news of Ganesh Hansda's demise. Ganesh Hansda had joined the Army in 2018 at the age of 21 years.

Jamshedpur: A 22-year-old Ganesh Hansda was one among the 20 soldiers killed in a fierce clash with Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh's Galwan Valley on Monday night. A pall of gloom descended on Kosaphaliya village in Jharkhand on Wednesday morning when they received the news of Ganesh Hansda's demise.

A resident of Kosaphalia village in Bahrahgora block of East Singhbhum, Hansda was the younger child of Sukhda and Kapra.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Dinesh Hansda, Ganesh Hansda's elder brother expressed his desire to serve the nation.

"I am ready to join the army and fight for my country if given a chance. I'm proud of my brother who sacrificed his life to protect the nation," conveyed Dinesh.

Dinesh also said that his brother had joined Bihar Regiment in September 2018 and was deployed at Leh in his first posting after completing 9-month training at Danapur on July 27 last year.

"He always had the passion to join the Indian Army," added his brother. Ganesh had last visited them in February.

MLA Samir Kumar Mohanty and MP Vidyut Varan Mahato visited the family of the martyred and expressed their condolences.

"We are saddened by the news of Ganesh's demise and we are all proud of him. All possible help will be provided to his family and we have spoken to the chief minister about providing his brother a job in the army or any other job so that his family can live a respectful life," said MLA Samir Kumar Mohanty.

"Ganesh's sacrifice will be remembered for years to come," expressed MP Vidyut Varan Mahato.

Ganesh Hansda had joined the Army in 2018 at the age of 21 years. Ganesh had completed his three-year NCC training from LBSM College, Jamshedpur.

His father Subda Hansda is also a daily-wage labourer while his mother Kapra Hansda is a housewife.
