Jamshedpur: A 22-year-old Ganesh Hansda was one among the 20 soldiers killed in a fierce clash with Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh's Galwan Valley on Monday night. A pall of gloom descended on Kosaphaliya village in Jharkhand on Wednesday morning when they received the news of Ganesh Hansda's demise.
A resident of Kosaphalia village in Bahrahgora block of East Singhbhum, Hansda was the younger child of Sukhda and Kapra.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Dinesh Hansda, Ganesh Hansda's elder brother expressed his desire to serve the nation.
"I am ready to join the army and fight for my country if given a chance. I'm proud of my brother who sacrificed his life to protect the nation," conveyed Dinesh.
Dinesh also said that his brother had joined Bihar Regiment in September 2018 and was deployed at Leh in his first posting after completing 9-month training at Danapur on July 27 last year.
"He always had the passion to join the Indian Army," added his brother. Ganesh had last visited them in February.
