Ladakh fallout: Chinese citizens wrongly accused of being spies in Ranchi

Three Chinese citizens were wrongly accused of being spies in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The rumours were proved to be false, after police investigation revealed they were employed in a private firm for over three years now.

Ranchi:As public resentment grows over Ladakh standoff with China, three Chinese nationals, residing in Jharkhand capital, were falsely linked to espionage activities, causing panic among local residents.

According to reports, the Chinese citizens staying in an apartment on Kanke Road were alleged to be involved in spy network emanating from China.

Following complaint from the residents, local DSP conducted an inquiry in which it was revealed that all three were employed in a mobile firm for the past three years. In the initial inquiry, it was also revealed that all three had valid passports.

Boycott China movement is gaining momentum in the country, with Union Minister Ramdas Athawale bizarrely stating all restaurants and hotels that sell Chinese food in India should be closed down!

Twenty Indian Army personnel including a colonel were killed in a fierce clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh on Monday night, the biggest military confrontation in over five decades that has significantly escalated the already volatile border stand-off in the region.
