Sahibganj: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable of 118 Battalion, Kuldeep Oraon was martyred in a major encounter between terrorists and security forces that broke out at the Malbagh area of Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on Thursday night.
Jharkhand soldier martyred in Jammu and Kashmir encounter Hailing from Jharkhand's Shahebganj, Kuldeep Oraon was the son of retired CPRF jawan, Ghanshyam Oraon who expressed grief as well as pride in his son's martyrdom. "Kuldeep was my younger son, CRPF commanders have informed me about the encounter that took place yesterday. I am proud of my son as he had sacrificed his life for the country."
Martyr Kuldeep Oraon is survived by his wife and two children.

According to the reports, three militants were hiding at the outskirts of Srinagar. Reacting on a tip-off, security forces launched a cordon and search operation after receiving specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
"On a specific police input, an operation launched at the outskirts of Srinagar by city police, Special Operations Group (SOG) and CRPF. One terrorist killed during the encounter. Srinagar Police and local Security Force unit are on the job. This is the third such encounter in the last 48 hrs and fourth in the last 72 hours," said Director-General J&K police, Dilbag Singh.
