Palamu (Jharkhand): At least three people were killed when a car has gone out of control and hit more than a dozen people in Jharkhand's Palamu district. The gruesome accident took place at the Baraon village of Chainpur. Over three of the victims died on the spot in the accident while many others are injured.
On receiving the information about the mishap, the authorities rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations. The injured persons were shifted to hospitals in the nearby areas. The identifies of the deceased were yet to be confirmed. Some of the victims have been seriously injured. After the incident, the police arrested the taxi driver and the people in it.
After the incident, there was mourning and outcry among the villagers in the entire area. All the deceased are residents of the same village. The car was found to be a brand new vehicle purchased recently. The ill-fated car was coming from Gadhwa on Daltonganj Gadhwa road when the accident occurred. The police have shifted the dead bodies of the three deceased to the MMCH Hospital for conducting postmortem.
The police officials have registered a case and investigation is going on. It is not immediately known what has led to the car running out of control. Details will come out only after talking to the car driver and survivors, the officials said.
