Ranchi:Jharkhand Minority welfare minister HajiHussain Ansari passed away Saturday afternoon after battling Corona infection. He was admitted to Medanta Hospital and although his report came negative on Friday, there was still no improvement in his health.
He was an MLA from Madhupur and was born on 2 March 1948 in Pipra village. His father is Haji Paigam Ansari and mother is Salma Bibi. He has four children - three daughters and a son.
Ansari, a graduate of science, was interested in the field of literature and also went to jail during the separate Jharkhand state movement.
Besides literature, Ansari also loved reading Munshi Premchand and Allama Iqbal. His ideals in politics were Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supremo Shibu Soren and had also visited Haj.
Political journey
Ansari started his political journey from Congress and later joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
He also had to go to jail during the separate Jharkhand state movement. His idol in politics was JMM supremo Shibu Soren. He first reached the assembly by winning elections in 1995 from Madhupur in Akhand Bihar.

After the formation of the state, he won elections in 2000, 2009, and 2019 and reached the assembly.
Currently, he was an MLA from Madhupur and was holding the responsibility of the Ministry of Minority Welfare and Registration of the Government of Jharkhand.
Shock for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha
The death of Haji Hussain Ansari is being considered a major setback for the JMM.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren tweeted and mourned his death saying, “I am hurt by the death of Haji Hussain Ansari. He played an important role in the creation of our separate state. May God rest his soul in peace and give strength to his family to bear the pain in difficult times.”
Former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das also tweeted that "Sad news of the death of Jharkhand Minority Welfare Minister Haji Hussain Ansari was received. May God give his soul peace and his family the power to grieve."
At the same time, BJP leader Babulal Marandi also expressed grief over the death of Minister Haji Hussain Ansari. JMM, Congress, and BJP leaders have also mourned over his death.
