Jharkhand man kills mother, cooks chicken on her pyre

In what could be termed as a horrific incident, a man allegedly killed his mother and cooked chicken on her pyre in the courtyard in Jharkhand's Chaibasa district. The accused is said to be mentally unstable as he had killed his father too four years ago.

Chaibasa: In a shocking incident, a man in an inebriated condition allegedly beat his mother to death and cooked chicken on her pyre in the courtyard in Jharkhand's Chaibasa district.

The incident was reported from Jojoguttu village under Manoharpur police station limits where Pradhan Soy, a 35-year-old schizophrenic man, killed his mother on Friday night when she was going to sleep.

As per reports, the accused also cooked chicken on his mother's pyre in the courtyard of their house. Later, on Saturday morning, Soy threw the half-burnt body into the earthen stove of the house, following which his sister informed the villagers about the incident.

The locals said Soy is mentally unstable as he had killed his father also nearly four years ago.

Notably, the police have sent the body for post-mortem and have begun investigation into the matter after taking Soy into the custody.
