Giridih: Abductors who had four people in their captivity released the hostages after noticing blockades erected by the police, official sources said.
The police said all four hostages were released outside Mirga village of Jamtara district. The police officials have launched an investigation into the incident.
The released hostages were identified as Ashok, Pradeep, Rahul and Virender. The four were abducted on Tuesday night while they were drinking at a place outside the village.
The police was informed soon after the family members of the abductees received a telephone call demanding ransom. According to the police, the abductors had demanded Rs 80 lakh to release the four youths.
