Garhwa (Jharkhand): A covid patient who was undergoing treatment at the Sadar Hospital in Garhwa, Jharkhand,allegedly committed suicide on Monday.
The deceased was identified as 39-year-old Neeraj Upadhyay from Kerketta village in Majhiyan block.
Meanwhile, another patient in the same hospital died after facing difficulty in breathing. According to the relatives of Shivchand Vishwakarma, 46, the hospital authorities failed to give him oxygen even after repeated requests.
Vishwakarma hailed from the Devgana village of Meral block in Jharkhand.

Following the developments family members of the deceased patients in a fit of rage created a ruckus at the hospital and attacked the health workers at the hospital.

In another incident in the district, 10 students studying at the Ranka Kasturba Residential School have tested positive for corona. Around, 55 girl students of the school were subjected to Covid tests. All students who tested positive for Corona have been admitted to the Sadar Hospital in Garhwa.
Many doctors, staff, and nurses working in Garhwa Covid Hospital have also tested Corona positive.
Overall, above 400 people have tested Covid positive and 19 Covid-19 patients have died in Gharwa district so far due to Corona. With all beds in the Covid Hospital, including in the district headquarters occupied, lack of oxygen and human resources have turned into a headache for authorities.
