Hazaribagh:Six persons, including two women, were killed after a bus travelling from Giridih to Ranchi fell off a bridge and landed on the dry bed of the Siwanne river near Tatijhariya village in Hazaribagh Sadar subdivision of the district on Saturday. The bus was carrying about 50 passengers.
Jharkhand: At least five killed after bus overturns in Hazaribagh
Five people died and many were injured after a bus overturned in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district on Saturday.
Several people have been injured in the incident, and are being referred to Sheikh Bihari hospital in Hazaribagh, officials noted. Upon receiving inputs, police and district officials reached the spot. A gas cutter machine was used to help the passengers leave the upturned vehicle.
"Two passengers died on the spot, while four others were declared dead by doctors at Sadar Hospital in Hazaribag. The fatality figures may go up as some are seriously injured. We are preparing to send them to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi for better treatment," Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan Chothe said. (with Agency inputs)
