Ranchi: 6-year-old raped and murdered, body found in sack

In yet another disgraceful incident, a minor girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her neighbour in Ranchi. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Ranchi:A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her neighbour in Ranchi, the police said.

Her body was found inside a sack about 50 meters from the house. The accused has been arrested.

The body has been sent for post-mortem for confirmation of the suspicion.

When the girl did not return home till late Thursday evening, her family launched a search for her in the neighbourhood. According to the complaint, the 28-year-old accused murdered the girl after raping her, after which the body was thrown in a sack just 50 meters from the house to hide the evidence.

The girl's family members have accused a relative of carrying out the incident. The accused was beaten by local people and the girl's family, after which he was handed over to the police.

Police called the FSL team that took the corpse out of the sack and collected various samples including fingerprints.

Deceased's Grandfather saw the sack in the bush just 50 meters from the house. On opening it, he found the naked body of the girl.

Villagers gave information about the incident to Ratu police station.

On being informed, Ratu police station in-charge Rajiv Ranjan Lal Sadal reached the spot and arrested the accused.

SP Naushad Alam of Ranchi said that the accused who carried out the incident has been arrested and he assured stringent action against the culprit.
