ETV Bharat impact: Missing man reunites with family after 4 years in Jharkhand

Due to the initiative of ETV Bharat, a man, who had gone missing from his native village in Bihar's Nawada district four years back was reunited on the new year. Upendra Chauhan, in his 30s, had left his home four years back as he was not mentally stable.

Simdega (Jharkhand): A man, who had gone missing from his native village in Bihar's Nawada district four years back was reunited on the new year due to the initiative of ETV Bharat.

Upendra Chauhan, in his 30s, had left his home four years back as he was not mentally stable.

It is to be noted that ETV Bharat had published a report in this regard on December 19, 2019. It was mentioned in the report that a deranged young man was being treated in the Sadar Hospital of Jharkhand's Simdega for about a month.

Following the report, Kiran Chaudhary, chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, took cognizance and with the help of Munnu Sharma, a human rights activist, succeded in searching Chauhan's family.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Dashoda Devi, mother of Chauhan, said that her son is mentally unstable and his treatment has to be done.

"We ran pillar to post in search of our son but could not find him for the last four years," Said Dashoda Devi.

Chauhan's father, Gareeban Chauhan said that his son could not speak properly due to his mental condition and this added difficulty in finding him.

"After waiting for four long years now we had started losing hope. But with the initiative of ETV Bharat, today I got my son," said the jubilant father.
