Elephant dies after being electrocuted in Jharkhand

A male elephant has been reported dead in the Seraikela district of Jharkhand. The elephant came near the pond to drink water where he came into contact with a high tension wire. The forest department has buried the dead elephant in the nearby forest.

Seraikela: An elephant died after being electrocuted near Kharsawan area in Seraikela district of Jharkhand.

The animal came into contact with a high tension wire of 11000 volts near Tinagoda lake. It is being told that the herd of elephants came there to drink water in the pond. This particular male elephant was killed during that time.

The locals who reached the spot informed the forest department about the elephant's death. At the same time, they even started worshipping the elephant in a traditional manner.

The elephant was buried in the nearby forest after the post mortem, said the officials.
