With the lockdown in place and the academic cycle coming to standstill, Jharkhand's Bokaro district administration has started an online coaching centre on Facebook to ensure that the education of children is not interrupted.

Bokaro (Jharkhand): Amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown, Bokaro district administration has started an online coaching centre on Facebook to ensure that the education of children is not interrupted.

This coaching centre runs on the Facebook page of Mukesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Bokaro, where classes are held every day from 11 am to 2 pm.

These, free of cost classes, are taken by the government high school teachers where more than 10,000 children are being prepared for the medical and engineering entrance examinations.

Classes run from Information Bhavan

The classes are live from Bokaro's Information Bhavan, children taking these classes are not just from Jharkhand but from other states as well.

Teachers teaching here said that thousands of children getting benefitted from this online class every day. Students also send their doubts which are cleared during the class.

Deputy Commissioner of Bokaro, Mukesh Kumar said that Bokaro has the best teachers and it is famous all over the country for the preparation of medical and engineering entrance exams.

"We took this initiative so that students can be benefitted from the knowledge of the teachers. The classes were started on Facebook, which is becoming successful not only in Jharkhand but in some other states too," said Kumar

It is to be noted that, amid coronavirus-induced lockdown when all schools and coaching centres are closed and the academic cycle has come to a standstill, such online classes are boon for students.
