Srinagar: Breathing life into the long-stagnant political sphere of Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened an all-party meeting of the mainstream parties of Jammu and Kashmir on June 24 in New Delhi. While the focus is on the meeting, there are also speculations that the Modi government at the Center is preparing a major decision regarding Jammu and Kashmir.
Ahead of the meeting, a lot of activity is being seen in the political circles in the valley. Mainstream parties, National Conference, PDP, CPIM and their conglomerate Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) have been busy holding party meetings over the new development.
The People's Democratic Party's Political Affairs Committee on Sunday in a meeting with its leaders authorised party president, Mehbooba Mufti, to take a decision on the meeting with the PM. National Conference also held a "consultative" meeting at the residence of party president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
