Two militants arrested in Jammu's Kishtwar district

According to a police statement, two youths namely Yasir Hussain and Usman Qadir, both residents of District Kishtwar went missing on 5 August. The statement further said that the Police had learnt through reliable sources that both the missing youths have joined the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant output with the intention to "endanger the integrity/sovereignty of the Country."

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed that it has arrested two newly recruited militants of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Outfit in the Kishtwar district of Jammu.

According to police, two youths namely Yasir Hussain and Usman Qadir, both residents of District Kishtwar went missing on 5 August. The statement further said that the police had learnt through reliable sources that both the missing youths have joined the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant output with the intention to "endanger the integrity/sovereignty of the country."

The police subsequently registered an FIR in the case.

On 8th August, the police received reliable information regarding the presence of the new recruits in the area of Tander Dachhan. The police along with the Army and CRPF launched a search operation in the area to apprehend the two. After putting in hard efforts, both the newly recruited militants were apprehended from the Kalaingassu area of Tander Dachhan today.

The police also recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
