Three terror associates arrested in J&K

Three associates of the terror outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen who were involved in providing shelter, logistics, and transportation of arms and ammunition to terrorists in Tral and Awantipora area, were arrested in Pulwama district.

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir):Three associates of the terror outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district, police said on Wednesday.

Acting on specific information on terrorist movement, Awantipora Police along with Indian Army's 42 RR and CRPF's 180 BN launched a search operation in village Batagund and Dadsara Tral, police said.

During the search operation, three associates of proscribed outfit Hizb-ul–Mujahideen were arrested.

The arrested terror associates are involved in providing shelter, logistics and transportation of arms and ammunition to the Hizbul terrorists in Tral and Awantipora area, police said.

The arrested terror associates have been identified as Batagund resident Shafat Ahmad Sofi and Dadsara residents Majid Mohammad Bhat and Umer Rashid Wani.

During on spot questioning of the arrested terror associates, IED material was recovered from the house of one of the arrested men at Dadsara, police said.

As many as eight electric detonators, seven anti mechanism switches, three pressure switches/relay mechanism switches, one improvised switch and one anti mine wireless antenna were recovered.
