Srinagar: Amid surging Covid cases across Jammu and Kashmir, summer capital Srinagar bore a deserted look with restrictions in place on Friday.

Srinagar remains deserted amid Covid lockdown

With the imposition of lockdown, public transport, shopping malls and other institutions remained closed and the movement of people remained restricted to contain the spread of coronavirus.

In the last 24 hours, 4,356 new cases have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir with 1,771 from Jammu province and the remaining 2,585 from Kashmir valley.

The pandemic has claimed the lives of nearly 55 people with 35 recorded in Jammu and 20 in Kashmir.
