The admission forms were to be submitted online considering the ease in application. But due to the suspension of internet services in the valley, parents are having a tough time going through manual filling process.

Several parents were seen in long queues to bring or collect admission forms for their children.

"We are helpless in this situation. We have to stand in such long queues when we can easily apply on the internet. Suspension of the services have adversely affected our lives," a man said while waiting eagerly to get a form for his child.

"Parents who influence schools during this situation have strong prospects for enrolling children," a parent alleged.

School administration and concerned authorities were urged by the parents to extend the deadline for forms due to the suspension of internet.

On August 5, the union government had announced the decision to modify Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu Kashmir. It also bifurcated the state into two Union Territories.
