Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Security forced on Saturday launched two parallel cordon and search operations in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipore district.
According to reports, a massive cordon and search operation has been launched in the Gamroo village under the jurisdiction of the Bandipore police station. The operation is jointly being conducted by the police, CRPF, and the Indian Army's 14 Rashtriya Rifles unit.
Meanwhile, another similar operation has been launched in the Aragam village under the jurisdiction of the Aragam police station.
The development comes days after a BJP leader, his brother and father were shot dead by terrorists in the heart of Bandipore town.
The security forces have reportedly tightened grip on suspected villages where militants are believed to be trapped.
On July 8, motorcycle-borne terrorists attacked BJP leader Wasim Bari, his father, and his brother while they were at their shop-cum-residence. The trio was shifted to the district hospital in a critical condition where they succumbed to their injuries.
