Srinagar: Pakistan on Friday resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation on the line of control (LoC) on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, an official said.
"Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation today (Friday) morning along the LoC in Rampur sector of Baramulla district by firing mortars and other weapons," Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.
"Befitting response is being given," he added.
Friday's ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Kashmir division has followed a series of ceasefire violation on the LoC in Jammu division.

In this attack, a 40-year-old woman was killed while another lady was critically injured. The deceased woman has been identified as Akther Begum, wife of Zahoor Ahmad, a resident of Bhatgran uri and she died of splinter injuries.
