Only vaccinated lawyers to attend court from July in Jammu and Kashmir

The Registrar General of the High Court today issued directions that the High Court, district courts and other subordinate courts will reopen on July 5 for physical hearings.

Srinagar:The administration of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court has reopened all the courts from July 5 after nearly three months of Covid-19 lockdown on the condition that only vaccinated lawyers and litigants will be allowed to enter the court.

The Registrar General of the High Court today issued directions that the High Court, district courts and other subordinate courts will reopen on July 5 for physical hearings.

Only virtual hearings were allowed in the courts since covid lockdown was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir to prevent the spread of the second wave.

The order said that the lawyers, staff and litigants should follow all COVID-19 SOPs like social distancing etc.

The order said that only those lawyers who have to appear before the court for the hearing of a case will enter the court and those lawyers whose cases have not been heard will not come to the court.

The order further said that persons whose cases are being heard and who want to appear before the judge for hearing will also be allowed.

Lawyers have been instructed not to sit in the Hall, lobby and other open spaces of the court, while only 50% seating shall be allowed in the canteens.
