No problem can be solved with a gun: Mehbooba Mufti

PDP chief and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti visited the Parigam on Tuesday and offered condolences to the family of SPO Fayyaz Ahmed, who was killed by militants.

Srinagar: People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday visited Parigam, Awantipora in south Kashmir and offered condolences to the family of SPO Fayyaz Ahmed, who was killed by militants.

"No problem can be solved with a gun, brother has become the enemy of brother, houses in Jammu and Kashmir are being emptied," the former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti expressed these views while talking to media personnel after condoling with the family members of the slain officer.

It should be noted that gunmen entered the house of SPO Fayyaz Ahmed of Hari, Parigam and opened fire. Fayyaz Ahmed, his wife and daughter were killed as a result of the indiscriminate firing.

Mehbooba Mufti recommended that the son of the slain SPO be given a civil job under SRO 43. Meanwhile, PDP spokesperson Dr Harbakhsh Singh, DDC member Manzoor Ganai and party zonal members were also present on the occasion. PDP zonal president Abdul Rashid Dar also accompanied Mufti on the visit.

Earlier, Kashmir's Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar warned militants against attacking off-duty police officers and their family members. Kumar said that police will track down and neutralise every terrorist who is involved in the killing of security forces personnel and civilians.
