Srinagar (Jammu-Kashmir): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday carried out searches in three different locations of Jammu and Kashmir, in a case related to radicalizing, motivating and recruiting youths of Jammu and Kashmir in Pakistan based militant organisation Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
The search operation was carried out in collaboration with J&K police and CRPF personnel. A senior NIA official told ETV Bharat, "This case pertains to radicalising, motivating and recruiting of the youth of J&K to effect violent activities in J&K and rest of India by Sajjad Gul, Salim Rehmani and Saifullah Sajid Jutt, commanders of LeT and TRF. Four persons have been arrested in this case so far".
During the search, authorities recovered incriminating materials and seized digital devices. In another development, NIA conducted searches at multiple locations in Kashmir in a case relating to the recovery of IED from Bhatindi area of J&K. The NIA raided the residence of Aijaz Ahmad Wani, a tailor by profession and a resident of the Barapather area of Batamaloo in Srinagar. Five mobile phones were seized from his residence, officials said, adding that the agency also searched the house of Faizan Mushtaq Bhat, a student in Sir Syed Abad area in Batamaloo and seized one mobile phone from his residence.
