Srinagar:National Investigation Agency (NIA) raids are underway at 16 locations across Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday in connection with a terror funding case linked to the Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI).
Searches are ongoing at five locations in Kishtwar and 11 locations in Baramulla. The latest crackdown came two days after the sleuths raided 12 locations in Jammu and Kashmir to investigate a Pakistan-backed terrorist conspiracy case on May 2.
"It is alleged that funds collected under the name of JEI Charity are being given to terrorist organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen for carrying out terrorist attacks in Kashmir," an NIA source said.

A few persons have also been detained by the central probe agency, who are currently being interrogated. Sources have said that the NIA is also examining a number of suspicious documents. NIA on Tuesday said weapons, bombs, narcotics etc. were being pushed into the Indian soil by PaK-based handlers and commanders of proscribed terrorist organisations using drones to the terrorists active in the Kashmir valley.
The NIA had conducted similar multiple searches in the said terror conspiracy case at 14 locations in Jammu and Kashmir on June 24, 2022. The searches had led to the seizure of incriminating material and digital devices. The NIA had registered a suo motu case on June 21, 2022 on the alleged terrorist conspiracy.
The previous searches focused on the premises of cadres and hybrid over ground workers linked with alleged affiliates and offshoot organisations operating under false names such as the Resistance Front (TRF); United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (UL J&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAAF), and others.
