New Delhi: A National Conference delegation, led by former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, and requested him to hold Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir by the year end.
Farooq Abdullah's son Omar Abdullah, also a former chief minister of the state, was part of the delegation.
"It has been 1.5 years since a popular elected government (NDA) has governed Jammu and Kashmir. We want an election to be held in the state before the year ends," Omar said in a press conference.
