Mother and daughters die of suffocation in Kashmir

Local people and police found the three people unconscious in Boniyar and took them to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them as dead.

Baramulla (Kashmir): A woman and her two daughters reportedly died of asphyxiation in Boniyar tehsil of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said on Sunday.

The trio has been identified as Shameema Begum, wife of Abdul Majeed Ganie, Nighat Majeed and Tabbsium Majeed both daughters of Ganie who are residents of Lari Boniyar.

Reports said soon after the incident the locals and police rushed to spot and found the trio unconscious and took them to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer also confirmed the incident to ETV and said an investigation is underway.

The bodies were taken to PHC Boniyar for autopsy. They said a probe has been initiated to find out the cause of death.
