'Militants' video aimed at glamorising Kashmir insurgency'

Police in Kashmir zone slammed militants for releasing a video of an attack on security forces in Baramullah as an attempt to glamorise terrorism.

Srinagar: Police in Jammu and Kashmir has said a video released by militants on social media was aimed at glamorising terrorism. The video posted on social media shows a strike on government forces in Baramullah.

Taking to Twitter, Kashmir zone police said: "By releasing a video of the attack, #terrorists want to glamourise #terrorism. But they can’t. We replied by actions & killed 04 top cmdrs, Sajjad @ Haider & FT Taimur Khan @ Abu Usman (seen in said video/attack) & Naseer @ Sad bhai & FT Ali bhai @ Danish within 72 hours."

All the militants who were part of the Baramulla attack were killed within 72 hours, Kashmir Zone police said.

Earlier, the police said that top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander was among the three militants killed in two encounters with the security forces in Kashmir.

A militant was killed in an encounter in Shopian, while two ultras - including LeT commander Naseer-u-din Lone, who was involved in the killing of six CRPF personnel earlier this year - were killed in a gunfight in Kupwara, police said.

One of the slain militants is Naseer-u-din Lone, who was involved in the killing of three CRPF personnel at Sopore on April 18 and as many CRPF jawans at Handwara on May 4.
