Migrant labourer shot dead in Kashmir

A Migrant laborer from Bihar was shot dead in Kashmir's Bandipora district on Friday.

Bandipora (Jammu & Kashmir) : A labourer who hailed from Bihar was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora on August 12. The attack took place around midnight at Soadnara Sumbal in Bandipore. The attack was carried out during the intervening night, Police said.

The deceased has been identified as Mohd Amrez. After being shot Amrez, was rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. Speaking about the incident, Amrez’s brother said, “Around 12.20 am my brother woke me up and said that a firing has started. He (deceased) wasn't around, we thought he went to toilet. We went to check, saw him lying in a pool of blood and contacted security personnel. He was brought to Hajin and later referred but he died.”

"During intervening night, terrorists fired upon & injured one migrant labourer Mohd Amrez Son of Mohd Jalil, a resident of Madhepura district of Bihar at Soadnara Sumbal, Bandipora," the Kashmir Zone Police said via Twitter.

Meanwhile, the whole areas has been cordoned off after the attack was carried out and a massive search operation was launched to nab the attackers. The slain migrant labourer was working in a cushion shop. This attack comes a day after four jawans were killed in an attack on an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.
