Mehbooba Mufti day-dreaming over restoration of Article 370: Tarun Chugh

Bharatiya Janata Party's national general secretary Tarun Chugh accused Mehbooba Mufti of being "sympathetic to Pakistan, China and Taliban". She sometimes dreams of the Taliban. Sometimes she sees China in her dream and sometimes she dreams of Pakistan coming to Kashmir, he said.

Jammu:Taking a jibe at People Democratic Party's president Mehbooba Mufti, Bharatiya Janata Party's national general secretary Tarun Chugh accused her of being "sympathetic to Pakistan, China and Taliban". Chugh made the remarks during a press conference. He also said that Mehbooba was daydreaming of restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Chugh said that Mehbooba Mufti lives in a world of dreams. "She sometimes dreams of Taliban. Sometimes she sees China in her dreams and sometimes she dreams Pakistan to come to Kashmir," he said.

Former chief minister Mufti on August 21 asked the government to restore the "snatched identity of Jammu and Kashmir" during a public meeting in south Kashmir's Kulgam district. Mufti said that there is still time for the central government to dig into its conscience and immediately restore the snatched identity of Jammu and Kashmir before it is too late.

"The Central government unconstitutionally and immorally repealed Section 370 and started a series of atrocities against the people here as well as against political activists and students which is still going on," Mufti added.

Speaking over the resumption of talks with the government over Article 370, Mufti said even in Afghanistan, the superpower country ultimately had to resort to negotiations. The government of India should also know that the solution to the Kashmir issue lies only in dialogue.

Article 370 was repealed by the Centre on August 5, 2019.
