Srinagar: Unknown gunmen fired upon a man near Durga nag area of Srinagar on Wednesday evening.
A senior police officer told that suspected militants fired upon a man, identified as Aakash Mehra, near Krishan Dabba.
He was immediately shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment where his condition is said to be stable, the officer said.
Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Reacting to the incident, J-K BJP General Secretary (Organisation), Ashok Koul termed the incident "unfortunate" and urged the police to investigate the case and nab the culprits as soon as possible.
"We stand by the family in this difficult situation. Those who are trying to disturb the peace in the region would not achieve anything," he said.
Police Issue Statement
Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. The investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this crime. The area has been cordoned off and searches in the area are going on, reads the statement.
