Kashmiri Muslims attend last rites of Hindu man

Muslims in Mattan area of Anantnag district rushed to express condolences after the death of elderly Kashmiri pandit Roshan Lal was announced.

Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir): Local Muslims once again set an excellent example of religious harmony, unity, humanity and Kashmiriyat in Mattan area of ​​Anantnag district in South Kashmir and helped a Kashmiri Pandit family perform the last rites of a family member

Locals were at the forefront of performing the last rites of an elderly Kashmiri Pandit named Roshan Lal. Local Muslims attended the last rites and bid farewell to the Pandit with tears.

The area is inhabited by Sikhs, Kashmiri Pandits and Muslim families. Despite the unfavourable conditions prevailing in Kashmir since the nineties, many families of Kashmiri Pandits have been living in the area and their Neighbors share the joys and sorrows together.

Locals said that as soon as the news of Roshan Lal Pandit's passing spread, dozens of villagers rushed to his house and shared his grief.

Local Muslims not only attended the last rites alongside their Pandit brothers but also attended the burning of the pyre.

It should be noted that with the outbreak of armed insurgency in Kashmir in 1990, thousands of Pandits left their homes and settled in different parts of India. However, hundreds of families have not migrated and are still living in their home in Kashmir.
