Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): In order to give a fillip to high-end tourism in Jammu & Kashmir, the administration is set to introduce helicopter services soon. The government has also decided to launch air safari and air rides over certain tourist locations, including a ride over Dal Lake and adjoining areas. Baseer Ahmad Khan, advisor to Lieutenant Governor, announced these plans during a meeting at the Civil Secretariat here on Friday.
Chairing the meeting, Khan said the move will boost tourism in the union territory and render interesting experiences to tourists. He said the department is looking at helicopter services to build connectivity between important destinations and attract more visitors. Khan directed the officers to identify tourist destinations from Jammu as well as Kashmir where helicopter services could be introduced on a pilot basis.
