Fire destroys ex-minister's house in Jammu & Kashmir

Ramban (Jammu and Kashmir):A major fire broke out in the two-storey house of former minister Choudhary Aijaz Khan in Rambam.

However, there was no loss of life and Aijaz Khan and his family were not hurt.

The incident took place at around 8 pm on Sunday night.

According to the police, the fire broke out in the house of vice-president of Apni party which in no time reduced the house to ashes.

Aijaz and his family were able to safely escape from the house.

Immediately fire service came and doused the fire.

The former minister is currently campaigning for the upcoming DDC elections and was on a visit to his house. The fire is said to have been triggered by a heater.

It is being estimated that property worth 2 crores was destroyed in the fire.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
