Jammu and Kashmir: Arms and ammunition recovered in Uri

A huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered by the security forces and local police in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district. Forces have claimed to have recovered two M16 rifles, two Pak origin pistols and four magazines.

Baramulla:Security forces have claimed to have recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition in the forest of Dulanja area of ​​Uri, a border town in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

According to the information received by ETV Bharat, the security forces had launched a search operation in the area based on the specific input about the presence of arms cache in Dulanja, Uri. The operation was carried out by Jammu and Kashmir Police with 8 Rashtriya Rifles during the day.

During the operation, two M16 rifles, two Pak origin pistols, four magazines were recovered.

An affidavit said that since September, there have been a number of inputs regarding the provision of illegal ordinances, which could potentially be used to increase offensive activities in troubled areas in the North Jhelum sub-sector.
