J&K: Meet the youngest kickboxing gold medalist, Tajamul Islam

Tajamul Islam came into limelight after defeating her rival from the USA to win the championship held in Italy's Andria where ninety countries participated in the event. Islam became the youngest kickboxing gold medalist.

Jammu:Tajamul Islam developed an interest in kickboxing when she was just five years old and went on to become a champion in her chosen sport.

Tajamul Islam is 12 years old now and has set up her own sports academy in Kashmir. This young achiever is shattering stereotypes and she packs quite a punch.

She came into limelight after defeating her rival from the USA to win the championship held in Italy's Andria where ninety countries participated in the event.

Now She runs her academy by the name of Haider Sports Academy which has seven different branches in district Bandipora.

She has also employed coaches to train the young age kickboxing enthusiasts.

"Though there were no championships taking place last year so it was all about online classes, practice and training kids," she added.

She further said that kickboxing gave her confidence to fulfil her dreams and will continue to do so in future.
