Srinagar:A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer got seriously injured after he allegedly shot himself with a service rifle in his unit in Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday.
"Today morning, inspector M. Damodar of CRPF's 141 Battalion shot himself with his service rifle at his unit in Srinagar's Shergari area," a CRPF spokesperson said, adding, "He was immediately shifted to state-run SMHS Hospital for treatment where his condition is stated to be critical."
"On hearing the gunshots, panic gripped the unit and when the jawans rushed to the barrack they found Damodar in a pool of blood," the spokesperson said.
