Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir): Army along with police on Monday claimed to have killed two unidentified infiltrators by foiling an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Pooch district. Spokesman for the Army's White Knight Corps said, "Operation Bahadur in Poonch Sector. A major infiltration bid was eliminated in a joint operation by Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police during the night of July 17 in Poonch Sector. Two infiltrators have been eliminated".
Sources said that Army and police carried out the joint operation based on intelligence inputs from reliable sources that militants were planning an infiltration bid along the LoC. "Early morning today, an infiltration bid was foiled at the General Area Poonch and the joint operation by Indian Army and J&K Police is in progress," the army spokesman said.
He said that the joint searches by the Army and the police are currently underway to flush out possible infiltrators hiding in the area. Further details into the incident are awaited. The latest infiltration bid comes six days after the Army claimed to have foiled a major infiltration bid by killing an unidentified militant along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
