After the meeting, PAGD spokesperson Yousuf Tarigami told the media that the BJP had said on the day of repealing of Article 370 that there would be construction and development but the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has deteriorated.

It may be recalled that on August 5, 2019, the BJP government had repealed Article 370 in Parliament and divided the state into two Union Territories.

PAGD has been working for the restoration of Article 370 for the last year. The People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is an electoral alliance between five regional political parties in Jammu and Kashmir reportedly aimed at restoring special status along with Article 35A of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
