Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir):Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on Saturday stated that the G20 summit, which will take place in Srinagar, on May 22, will showcase Kashmir's hospitality on international platforms and will boost tourism and the state's economy. Talking about the G20 meeting, he said that everyone involved, including the J&K administration, had completed all arrangements for the meeting, which would start on May 22. "The event will aid in showcasing Kashmir's hospitality on a global stage. The event will promote Kashmir's hospitality and beauty across the world, which will ultimately lead to an increase in tourist numbers. We are optimistic that the G20 meeting would significantly boost J&K's economy," Sinha said.

He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for selecting J&K for the significant occasion. The G20 summit is taking place in Kashmir for the first time under India’s presidency. Speaking to the media after inaugurating the Riverfront on the River Jehlum at Rajbagh, Sinha said that six km of the Riverfront have already been built, and more are on the way.

"Srinagar is being developed at an international level. A library will also open in the city soon, and there will soon be free Wi-Fi zones, cycle tracks, walkways and cafés, he said, adding that Srinagar, which is surrounded by water bodies, would soon be a "smart city" in every sense.
