J-K: Two militants including Jaish commander killed in Pulwama gunfight

A cordon and search operation was launched in the area after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants there. As the joint team of police and army zeroed in on the spot, the hiding militants fired at the troopers triggering an encounter.

Pulwama (Jammu-Kashmir):Two militants including a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander were killed in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday morning, police said, adding that arms and ammunition were recovered from the site.

The slain militants have been identified as commander Yasir Parray, an IED Expert and foreign terrorist Furqan, police tweeted.

According to police, Yasir was the same militant who had planted an IED in Arhal in 2019 in which an army officer was killed. He was also on their red list since 2019.

Police also said that the two militants were involved in several terror crime cases.
