CISF takes over security of Jammu airport

After Srinagar airport, the Central Industrial Security Force on has taken charge of security at Jammu airport. With this induction, total airports under CISF security cover has risen to 63.

New Delhi:The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday took over the security of Jammu Airport. With this induction, total airports under CISF security cover has risen to 63 as on date.

CISF also took the charge of Srinagar airport a few days back.

Earlier, the security of both Srinagar and Jammu airport was the the J&K police. But after the arrest of senior officer of J&K police Davinder Singh for his alleged connection with Pakistan based terrorist organisations, the Government decided to hand over the airport security to CISF.

After assuming charge, CISF inspector general VS Mann and other senior officials took stock of all the areas at the airport including terminal building and reviewed the security arrangements of the airport.
