Army officer found dead under mysterious circumstances in North Kashmir

A 29-year-old Indian Army officer was found dead under mysterious circumstances while on duty in Teetwal sector of North Kashmir's Kupwara district. Officials said there was a visible injury mark on the lower part of the deceased's chin.

Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir): An Indian Army Major was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Teetwal sector of North Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday afternoon, official sources said.

Sources said the 29-year-old Army officer posted with 6 JAK Rifles as Company Commander was found dead while on duty at Jogi Post in the frontier sector.

The body, as per an official, was subsequently moved to Chamkot after informing the local police.

"There is a visible injury mark on the lower part of his (deceased's) chin," officials said.

"A case is being filed in this regard under 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of his death," they added.
