Shopian gunfight: An Army jawan and a militant killed, encounter in its final stage
Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir):One jawan and one militant killed in an ongoing encounter which broke out between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district in the early hours of Friday.
According to reports, one more army personnel was injured in the exchange of fire.
The operation is currently in its final stage at the Pandoshan village.
A joint team of Army, SOG and CRPF launched a search operation last night, acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants in the area.
The martyred soldier has been identified as sepoy Rambir of 8 JAT while sepoy Deepak sustained grievous injuries in the exchange of fire.
