Pulwama (J&K):Security forces on Sunday recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir after apprehending and questioning a terrorist associate.
Kashmir Zone police in a tweet said they recovered around 5-6 kg IED thus averting a major tragedy. "Pulwama Police averted a major tragedy by apprehending a terror associate Ishfaq Ahmed Wani R/O Arigam Pulwama and recovering an IED (approx 5-6Kgs) on his disclosure. Case registered and investigation started," the tweet by Kashmir Zone police read.
The recovery is substantial since only two days ago, five Army soldiers were killed when militants cornered by the troops triggered an IED explosion in a densely forested area in Jammu's Rajouri district. As already reported by ETV Bharat, security agencies in Kashmir are facing a new challenge in the shape of lone-wolf terrorismwhere militants who aren't formally part of any organisation carry out such attacks making it difficult to have any surveillance on them.
