24-member Bollywood delegation in Kashmir, to explore scenic locations for film shoots

Upon being invited by Jammu and Kashmir's tourism department, a 24-member delegation from the Bollywood industry is in Kashmir on a four-day visit to explore scenic places for film shooting.

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): A 24-member delegation from the Bollywood industry is in Kashmir on a four-day visit to explore scenic places for film shooting.

The delegation has come to the valley on being invited by Jammu and Kashmir's tourism department.

Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, the delegation members said that the film shootings would provide a livelihood to the locals.

Praising the beauty of Kashmir, the delegation said that for Bollywood to come to the valley, the Jammu and Kashmir administration's support is vital. "Kashmir is a perfect place for film shooting but we all will have to work hard, including the J&K government, to promote the same here," said the delegation members.

Talking about the options in Kashmir, Meena Iyer, one of the members said, "We need to explore Kashmir more. There is no other place as beautiful as Kashmir."

As per the reports by the Department of Information & Public Relation, Jammu and Kashmir, the crew of the top banners which have arrived in the region include Ajay Devgun Films, Sanjay Dutt Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Films, Zee Studios, Adhikari Brothers & SAB (Marathi), Endemol, Rajkumar Hirani, Excel Entertainment, and more besides representatives from Producers Guild, Mumbai.

The delegation will explore locations in Gulmarg, Srinagar and Pahalgam for film shoots during their trip in Kashmir.

Talking with the media, Director Tourism G N Itoo said: “Producers Guild will be briefed about scenic locations in Kashmir ideal for film shooting. Through this, we want to promote film tourism in the valley.”
