Minutes prior to her death in Himachal landslide, doctor tweets this pic

A Jaipur based doctor who was on a tour to Himachal and had uploaded amazing images of nature on her social media handle, passed away in a landslide. Even as the pics have gone viral, her followers are shocked to learn about her death.

Kinnaur (Himachal): Dr Deepa Sharma (34), a doctor who hails from Rajasthan's Jaipur was killed in a massive landslide in Himachal's Kinnaur district on Sunday. On 25th July, minutes prior to her death, she had put up a beautiful image of her standing close to the signage of 2nd Batallion Nagasti Post of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police check post. "Standing at the last point of India where civilians are allowed. Beyond this point around 80 kms ahead we have border with Tibet whom china has occupied illegally," Sharma had tweeted at around 12:59PM, minutes prior to the landslide.

Several of her followers on Twitter expressed shock and condoled the young doctor's demise. "I am not a IAS/IPS, IIM, Ivy league school pass out, any celebrity or any Politician, but I am confident, In few years people will know my name very well for my good work and my professional attributes for our Nation and for #WomenEmpowerment.." Deepa's intro on her social media handle read.

Dr Kumar Vishwas, who was a member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a former member of its National Executive too took to the microblogging site to express his shock over Deepa's death. "Oh God! I Can't believe the news of your death in Himachal landslide. I keep reminding you of your request to plant medicinal trees. I had to fulfill the promise of meeting with your family in Jaipur that you changed course. May you rest in peace Deepa," Vishwas tweeted.

At least nine people were killed and three others were injured in multiple landslides in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district on Sunday, police said. Multiple landslides occurred near Batseri on Sangla-Chitkul road, they added. Massive boulders fell on a tempo vehicle carrying 11 people and of them, nine were killed and three were injured, according to the police. In a similar incident, one person was injured in another landslide in Kinnaur district, they added. Multiple landslides triggered by recent rains occurred near Basteri at 1.25 pm, resulting in a bridge collapse and damage to some vehicles, the police said. Dr Deepa was one of those travellers on the tempo.
