Manali:The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Keylong depot, which provides bus services on the country's longest and highest route, is now going to start a bus service between Kilad and Chamba. Like the Rohtang Pass, the people of Chamba and Killar will be able to travel easily after the services start.
Bus services were stopped on October 1st due to early snowfall on this 175 km long route. Now, after eight months, the bus services will resume on the route.
37 seater bus trial was successful
A 37 seater bus was run on a trial basis on the route, which has been successful. People will have to pay a fare of Rs 304 for a 175 km long journey.
Relief to the people of Fort Pangi
The Killad Valley is part of the Chamba district, but the connectivity is more to Lahaul than Chamba. Now the government has connected Chamba and Killar, making it easy for the people to travel from one place to another.
RM Mangal Chand Manepa of HRTC Keylong Depot informed people about the success of the trial. Like Rohtang Pass, travelling on Saach pass also becomes difficult because of sudden snowfall in the area.
HRTC has started the Killad-Chamba bus service passing through Saach Pass. Last year, bus services were available on this route from 31 August to 1 October. This time too, the bus service will continue till the snowfall.
