As per information, a team of engineers were deployed by the Army to repair a truck near Sarchu but heavy snowfall forced them to be stranded at a height of 14,000 feet in deep snow. The rescue team managed to save them and brought them to Keylong safely.

It may be mentioned here that vehicles of the Indian Army have been plying on the highway since October as the highway closes for the civilian vehicles as the Keylong-Leh road is closed down.
