Bilaspur: Babita Kumari, who has 24 'bhigas' of land in Nalwad Kotloo village in Himachal Pradesh, has become an inspiration for many farmers in the region by growing and selling vegetables.

She has earned a profit of rupees three lakh in the on-going season, which has inspired many farmers to take up the same kind of modern farming.

It's learnt that she made a profit for both Rabi and Kharif crops by earning rupees 2, 98, 645 during the year.

In the Rabi season of 2019-20, Babita grew cauliflower, sugar beets, broccoli, spinach and other vegetables in five 'bhigas' of her land and earned rupees 1, 05,645 as profit. In the Kharif season, she grew cucumber, tomato, bottle guard, green chilli and other vegetables.

Many farmers, including Babita have benefitted from a government irrigation scheme started in the year of 2017. It is helping as many as 51 families in the village.

Many poly houses have been made where 'ageti paudha' could be prepared.
