Shimla:Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Himachal who will be inaugurating the Atal Rohtang Tunnel, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Saturday, briefed him of the preparations.
Through video conferencing, the CM informed the PM about the preparations of the government regarding the proposed visit to Himachal Pradesh.
Besides Thakur, Union Defense Ministry Secretary Ajay Kumar gave a presentation on the characteristics of the Atal Tunnel that is built from a strategic point of view to the state.
Inauguration on October 3
According to the proposed program, the PM is scheduled to reach Manali Helipad at 8:30 am on October 3. He will travel about 25 km by train and reach the South Portal of Atal Tunnel.
After travelling 9.9 km in the tunnel, the Prime Minister will reach the North Portal on the other side, where the bus will be flagged off. This program will be for about 10 minutes, after which the Prime Minister will address a rally of about 200 people in Sissu, 10 km away.

The Prime Minister will then address the public meeting in Solang Nala.
He may also stop for lunch in the meantime from where he will return to Helipad.
